The Uniqueness of NZ

Hey bloggers, this term we've been learning the different aspects of what makes New Zealand, New Zealand, disscussing from food, envioronment, community, plants and on this slide a game! In this slide, I'll be explaining the origin of Ki O'Rahi of how it came from and of course the rules of the game and demonstrating it out. Each country has to have the uniqueness to be able to maintain its identity.

Usefulish movie script

 

Hey Bloggers, this term for literacy, we're going to be making a short movie. But to make a movie, we need to write something called a script, a script contains all the information of the film so writing your characters, moral, IPARC and writing each situation and adding Int (interior, meaning voice, or something important to list down), Ext (Exterior, meaning the scene and something that you could phisically see). My movie will animated and it's a story of the people on Earth saving Hummanity (Ying Yang) from being fully destroyed by the army of Xenomorphs, it shows that the Ying Yang is what makes life meaningful.

Surely Sign language

                                         
 

Hey bloggers, today we've been learning sign language, because it is sign language week. We've been playing this game called "Sign Ninja" where we have to watch different videos to answer different questions. But you need to learn to know the answers for each question, if you get one question wrong, you'll have to redo all the questions, which is quite annoying. You have to earn "sacks" to feed the monster like food, blocking you from the next door. On top is the video of me introducing myself. I hope you enjoy learning sign language.

Fast and insane rocket (not really insane)

Hey bloggers, this week we've did our final launch for our rockets, many teams participated in this compitition for the top three furtherest ones. Our group is called MASA (not named by me) with Taine, Daimien, Cameron, Jordan, kayden, Billie and me. Our rocket on the final day of launch only went 18 metres, which was concideribly further than our previous launch, because it didn't imeadiently crash onto the ground. I like our design, because the shape of fins being aerodynamic and sleak. Overall I think our rocket is great and maybe next time use a newer and less damaged rocket. We've also have an epic trailer for you to filthily enjoy (for real!). I hope you've enjoyed our look and the practicality of our rocket.

Hey bloggers, this week we've been looking into Genre studies, because were going to make a video essay for this term as our big project in literacy. So far I'm doing my on Action, but my one isn't complete and I still have my script (essay) to finish, before I start making my recording and video. My coding 

Hey bloggers, today we've been playing around with python and learnt some basics of the premise. We've used Codesters to do our turtorial and making our own short animation (a bit different) about our issue like those short videos telling us what to do. My one is about going on less devices and a watchful wizard will always be there spying beside you, to reduce the amount of time of you going on your devices, my video is targeted towards kids, because they beliven more things than older people and the background is a haunted house. I hope you find the comic Phython funny, but also gives out a message. You should also do some python on Codesters to learn more about python (But not the most mathy one).

Samoan recap

Hey bloggers, today we've been doing a full recap on Slides about Samoan. There are info about Samoan, a triditional dance video, basic greetings, alphabets, counting from 1 to 10, info about our Siapo and our animation about basic conversations. Maori Games

 

Hey bloggers, today we've been writing some instructions for our Maori games. We've been put in into groups that then have to write their own set of instructions, my group were Olivia F, Matilda, Tom and Valley-Rose and had to do Pukana. The teachers had also made it more interesting by making our own video to demostrate the actual game and turning the video link to a QR code, which is really facinating! Make sure to scan the QR code properly and it should pop up with our video with us doing a voice over to explain the rules. I hope you really find this interesting and actually watch the video! Tell us in the comments of the QR code doesn't work, so I can redo it. 

Samoan Greetings

 

Hey bloggers, today we've been learning some basic greetings in Samoan, it's a language that isn't very oftnely used. The overall look and sound is definitely quite similar to Maori, which is ofthen more reconized by people. Here is my smooth-ish animation of tow people explaining all the greetings while skating (for fun :) that we would oftenly use in English to Samoan. Disclaimer: Near to the end, I didn't do their movement and any extra frames. I hope you've learnt some basic greetings in Samoan. Did you think some of them were really different to Maori?

Almost Perfect Parachutes

 

 

 Hey bloggers, this week we've been looking into thinking like an Engineer, our challenge was to build a Parachute that would take the longest to glide down two Steel Nuts, the materials are provided and from school. 

I've grouped up with Damian, Taine, Cameron and Brock. Our first idea was to make 2 to 3 Parachutes, because we've thought it would increase the amount of drag and drag up more air, but it didn't work, because the smaller Parachutes (0.72 seconds). 

Our Second idea was to make a Para glide reusing our previous material (fabric), because we didn't thought a lot with the materials and taped some paper towels to be more sealed, we thought it was better because it was bigger (means more sizable drag) and easy to make, unlike hot air Balloon shaped ones would be much harder, but it still didn't did well enough (roughly 1.3 seconds).

On our final idea (in the image) was to use a wide paper, because it's light, but durable, we've made sure that the ribbons were the same length and it was symmetrical, also not tangled up, I've also used some masking tape for the two Steel Nuts making sure that it doesn't tilt and move when gliding, it surprisingly went for a quite good 2.84 seconds and came 3rd out of the whole class.

I think using a paper Parachute wouldn't be that great, because it wouldn't easily open when example a rocket dropping and would require a lot of air pressure (because it was to be in some sort of compartment, I think), other than that we can improve more on our understanding for each material and somewhat know what good materials are good for some purpose.

Charming Childrens Books pt2

 
Hey bloggers, this week we've been looking more into Childrens books and starting to write our very own stories that would have some moral and would also be entertaining for younger audiences. My Story is about a girl called Sally who gets bullied at her local Private School everyday, Sally dreams and thinks lots about things and excels at all of her subjects. But Sally finally finding it very annoying and infuriated when dealing bullies all around the school, so she began standing up for herself and walked away and told the teachers when she had the chance to. This is a story about not giving up and facing your fears in life. I hope you enjoyed my story(haven't fully completed yet).

Perfect Percentages

Hey Bloggers, this week in maths, we've been looking into Percentages and converting them form fraction to Percentages. Here is one of the first example that I did, like a Netball game with Australia vs New Zealand, here are the Goals and Shots Taken for both teams, I also showed you my determined Pergcentage and how I'd gotten my Shooting Percentage. We've also made two cubes for each team and written goals to misses on the cube, like for Australia there would be 5 sides that would haves Goals and 1 side Miss and NZ would have 4 sides that would have Goals and 2 sides Miss. I hope you've enjoyed my example for Percentages. Did you find this interesting?

Charming Childrens books

Hey bloggers, this week we've been looking into childrens books and be looking into the different authors like Dr Suess, Lynley Dodd and comparing their differences from the characters to their own taste. Everyone in our Literacy group had to write their very own poem that has to rhyme and have some sort of moral, my one is a about a Duck that's stuck in the truck and talking about the things that he has been through and done. Some of the other ones were really funny and are packed with homour. I hope you've enjoyed more about poems. You can also write down your own short one in the comments. Did you liked my rhymes? So Much Mathematical Terminology

Hey bloggers, this week on Friday, we've been looking into the language of Math. We had to write an explanation about the different terms that we've learnt before, also giving them an example in maths and for an Application term in the world. I've written my explanations and my examples for an Application term in the world, also try and solve some. The reason why we we're doing this is to really understand all the basic languages in math, making sure that we would for sure to understand terms that are synonyms. I hope you've learnt the different terms and understood them. Did you think my explaination is clear? Did you liked my examples that I've used?

NASA and the Moon

Hey bloggers, for this term, we've been into about space and how planets and our space work. But for this week, we're doing a tik tac toe activity where our tasks are finished like in the actually game to win. I've finished on of them and also working with my friend Henry (hasn't posted it quite yet), who has finished the other one. My task was to find out more about NASA's mission to land onto the Moon, of what took them to get there and also about the Moon, my poster explained of the crew members and some surprising facts about NASA's journey and getting you to know more about the Moon. I hope you've found out more about NASA's mission and learn't more about the Moon and how important it actually is. What made you intrigued about space? Did this made you think more about our universe?

Film Noir (just Black Film in French, so fancy. :-)

Hey bloggers, this week for literacy, we've been looking into a interesting Genre called Film Noir, it is a Genre that originated in France, mainly about tragedy and negativity. Film Noir is also commonly more shadows and lighting are very important, there's also three angled lightings and how the films really work with lights, like blurring, wide lights,  In front of the slide is the two comparisons for each film, explaining their films, similarities and differences. We've also been starting to write our own story's by using the Film Noir, my story is about a family where their Dad is famous for his intellegence in inventing medicines, but there are some people who are lurching around to poison him, but when their Dad was poisoned and was burryed to the ground, their family also got private investigators to find who the suspect was, later on the story, a Zombie had appeared beside the beach when Kelly and her friends went to a exclusive beach party. Magical Square

Hey bloggers, this week we've been looking into Magic Squares, but what's a Magic Square? Well it's a square 3 by 3 and you need three different numbers and three for each of them, that have the same added amounts from each other. We've also looked into writing equations to find their patterns, here in the slide I'm showing you my evidence for each series of challenges that we've did, our math group had to write out the Magic number for each question. I even have a very long detailed explination from about the numbers to finding the pattern for each square, so you can also make your own one! Aurora Australis

Hey bloggers, Today we're making a art piece and learning about the Aurora. There are different beliefs around some countrys long ago, like in China, believeing the Flames of God and evil Dragons battling in the heavens. 

Aurora are bright lights that shimmer in the skys that can constantly change in shape and size, also known as the Southern or Northern Lights. Aurora comes from the sun that burns so much energy, particals can shoot making a Solar Wind which can reach up to speeds of 750 km/ph.

 Solar Winds can be damaging to the atmesphere in space and satellites, but the Earth is protected from its Magnetic field, because the Earth has a core that acts like a giant magnetic that rotates quickly, as the Magnetic field around our earth called the Magnetosphere that are from the South and North Pole, which acts like a sheild. 

Not all particals are deflected, so it zooms its way, striking the oxygen and nitrogen atoms which light them up, producing those vibrant and rainbow colours. Aurora is also seen on other planets, such as Saturn, Jupiter, Uranus, Mars and Neptune. 

I hope you've learn't lots more about Auroras, Aurora's have one of the best landscapes that you could ever view, personally, I've never seen one. Have you seen a Aurora before? What did it look like? Did it made you day when you saw it?

A Matariki Ebook

Hey bloggers, Today we've been doing animations, puppets and books explaining Matariki for young people to understand. I made an Ebook on Book Creator, but couldn't upload the Ebook, so I decided to take screen shots and put it onto each individual slide. The book took me quite a bit of time and finding the images were time consuming. Matariki is one of the most important myths and beliefs particularly for the maori culture. I hoope you've learnt more about Matariki that you've might've not know. Do you like my layout for each of the pages? Did you find the story amazing?

Checking in on the Birds :/

Hey bloggers, today we've been diving into more about patterns and working out their equations. We are investigating into their patterns of hatching, growth and population, as we used our skills to the test, having to know BEDMAS, linear equations and our inferencing to order answer the questions. I think the hardest part in getting the equation for the years of a specific amount of population, also got some help from my brother for the last question!:) I hope you've think that finding patterns can be fun and amazing!
